Less than a year after the release of the original Left 4 Dead, which has become one of the best-selling Valve games to date and probably one of the best selling co-op games, comes the annoucement of a sequel. The sequel, being released November 17th, will be heavily improved upon the first version. Valve has seen the success of their first game and has taken all the complaints and critiques from the community and built upon that to create Left 4 Dead 2.
The new Left 4 Dead improves upon the original in many ways but most notably with the new AI Director 2.0....
Battlefield 1943 Pre-E3 Preview

E3 will be coming our way very soon and with that we'll be hearing a lot of news from all the latest games. One of those games that I'm sure will be a highlight is the upcoming downloadable Battlefield 1943 being made by EA/DICE.
As many of you know, EA/DICE is working on five titles. Battlefield: Heroes which has been in beta for over a year and should be coming public soon. They're also working on Battlefield: Bad Company 2 which will introduce a true single player to the PC. Two other titles are being worked on that we currently have no information about, we just know they're being developed. Then of course there is Battlefield 1943.
Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay Revealed!

Unfortunately it's very short. Today Infinity Ward released a trailer showcasing a little bit of the gameplay from the upcoming title "Modern Warfare 2." It is about a 17 second long video sadly and reveals that more footage will be coming May 24th.
The video does at least show that the locales we'll be playing in will be quite different from the original game. You'll notice the graphics are also slightly improved with the character's much more detailed, better water effects and also what appears to be slightly improved explosions and lighting effects. I'm sure we'll see more differences as more videos are released. Also take note that some missions will take place underwater, definitely a welcome addition. They'll also have another mission from up in the sky which seemed to be a favorite among the Call of Duty community. My favorite part was the snowmobile mission. This is already looking to be a really intense sequel.

No word yet on when it will release but today, April 21st, the arrival of the free L4D DLC will be available on Steam. Xbox 360 users received it early this morning but PC guys have to wait a little while longer but don't fret...it will be here.
The new DLC is jam packed with sweet content included the two campaigns not yet in versus...now in versus. This includes Death Toll and the amazing Dead Air campaign.
In addition to that expect to see a new game mode called "Survival...."
Battlefield Media Blowout!

Tons of new media coming our way from the folks at EA/DICE. As i'm sure many of you know, EA/DICE is currently working on 5 Battlefield titles: Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield 1943, Battlefield Bad Company 2, a possible Battlefield 3 and a 5th yet unnamed Battlefield game. I have some new information from two of these titles, Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield Bad Company 2, which we'll now be seeing come to the PC.
Three new screenshots were released today for 1943 and they show some pretty sweet looking visuals from what looks to be Wake Island. I love seeing the planes in these shots because I miss the old dogfights from 1942...Battlefield 2 dogfights aren't very exciting thanks to the insanely fast flying speeds. Modern Warfare 2 Teaser Trailer
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 2009-03-26 00:31:19 - Gaming News - 0 comments
Infinity Ward released the first teaser trailer for Modern Warfare 2. Why no Call of Duty in the title you may ask? Who knows. It could just be for the sake of the trailer or they could be dropping the Call of Duty name altogether.
Either way, this is a real short teaser that shows very little but does give us a hint that it will be as action-packed as the last one and it will be released this year. 11.10.09 to be exact. Check out the vid.
Bioshock 2 Featuring: Big Daddy

We all know about the teaser trailer for Bioshock 2 (originally titled Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams) that was released with the PS3 version of Bioshock. In that trailer we saw a vast sea with a little sister, now a bit more grown up, holding a big daddy doll. As the camera panned back we would see a city rising up out of the sand. Pretty uninformative right?
Well now, several weeks after they opened a teaser website called Soemthing in the Sea, a GameInformer article was released giving us the latest scoop on the next title in the Bioshock series.
Hands-On with Left 4 Dead DLC

The folks over at IGN have gotten their hands on a preview of the upcoming DLC for Left 4 Dead. Included are some videos and an interesting article to accompany it. Keep in mind the videos show players that suck really bad so that will be the biggest thing you'll notice.
It's real cool to see the Survival mode in action. Basically what it will be is you are still on a four man team but you are put in smaller versions of the campaign maps, with the addition of one map called "Lighthouse" which is supposed to be really difficult. Anyway, the goal is simple: survive as long as you can. Zombie waves come at you from all corners and it is pretty much non-stop action. The longest the Valve guys have lasted is 9 minutes so it is pretty hard to do.
In addition to the new game mode, they've released the other two campaigns as Versus and the PC version will also finally have the SDK to work with.
It should be a pretty nice update...and it's completely free! We should see it hit steam sometime in March or April. Read more about it here.
New Team Fortress 2 Scout Update
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 2009-03-02 00:04:07 - Gaming News - 0 comments
Sorry for the late announcement on this but the latest update to Team Fortress 2 has been released with updates for the SCOUT class. A lot of new changes have been added to this update to make the scout class a lot more exciting, as if it wasn't already.
This update's highlight is the new weapons for the scout. The first is a double-barreled shotgun called the "Force-A-Nature." It is what it is because one shot from this thing and you knock the enemy back way far, and yourself too. Shotgun jumps anyone? There is also "The Sandman" which is a bat and a baseball. How cool is that...time for some BOINK on those guys right to the noggin. Lastly they got the "Bonk" energy drink. This beast does what it is, gives you energy, enough energy to get you dodging bullets all over the place.
They've also updated a few of the previous community maps and added two brand new ones: watchtower and junction.
Head on over to the Scout page to read more about it and login to Steam to start downloading the update!

As we all know, we are in need of new content for Left 4 Dead. It is coming...soon...as in this Spring. It was originally announced on February 5th. and should be a pretty awesome collection of stuff.
Today they announced that the pack will be completely and 100% free of charge for both PC and 360 users. This is great news for the console community, not so much for PC because PC people wouldn't have it if there were a price but the 360 guys finally get something for free.
